Explore the motivation, theories, practices, and realities of creating spatial sound experiences in a wide variety of venues, including research facilities, theaters, sonic art installations, and venues for music such as the Durham Armory.

What is spatial sound? What is the role of architecture and room acoustics? What are the main research avenues currently being pursued in the development of practical immersive audio systems? What new art forms may arise from this sonic technology? We’ll explore these questions and more in this presentation and panel discussion with ground-breaking sound technologists, designers, and artists.
