Yoga After Dark was concepted and launched in 2009 as an event to merge yoga, music and community in order to build strong connections across cultures, welcoming both non-yogis and practicing yogis.

YAD is a two-hour immersive multimedia cinematic and sound odyssey where participants rediscover clarity through motion, mindfulness and meditation. Yoga After Dark offers a sensory elixir — presented in quadraphonic sound — of a live musical performance, a curated DJ soundscape set and stunning cinematic images. Participants are taken on an exploration of the elements of spatial sound though an inner journey imagined to inspire relaxation, restoration and replenishment — with the goal being to return the mind to its original state of clarity and inspire creativity and solutions to challenges. During this enriching experience, we delve into strategies to rebalance our energy and unseal the abilities of sound, motion and the senses to promote harmony, the renewal of consciousness and being present.

Through a series of gentle, calming movements and breathing techniques, participants will prepare themselves for stillness and a beautiful guided meditation journey.
Participants will dissolve into complete relaxation, enjoying vivid, visual cinematic projections of the four seasons — while being bathed in music offered in quadraphonic sound and a cultivated mix of soundscapes and atmospherics all curated especially for Yoga After Dark. It is an exotic mélange of world rhythms, downtempo and ambient flavors performed by Joseph Murray (Toao) and Michael Mitchell (Iguassu). Motion, stillness and guided meditation led by Valencia Wood.

End this evening with a tea sip of a special selection of herbal teas and light organic refreshments. Capture the energy of this magical moment to build bridges to unite communities, cultivate new friendships, and set the stage for groundbreaking ideas and creations to be born. Moving Forward.

Those not in attendance 5 minutes before the session begins will forfeit their spot to those in line.
