This is a discussion exploring the framing of non-Western perspectives, culturally and linguistically, in Western music media. Looking at pitfalls, native informant issues, comparative cultural analysis, post-colonial power dynamics, and strategies used by writers and artists.

Those not in attendance 5 minutes before the session begins will forfeit their spot to those in line.
