Summer Dunsmore

Summer Dunsmore is a writer, filmmaker, and visual artist from San Diego, California. After receiving her Bachelor's degree from U.C. Berkeley, she pursued opportunities as a video documentarian, work that led her to travel extensively throughout the U.S., India, Nepal, and Central America.

As a recent graduate of the MFA in Experimental and Documentary Arts program at Duke University, her most recent installation works experiment with video, collage, and text in order to construct physical worldings that activate public spaces through storytelling. Her debut film, "Hot Desert Night", was an official selection in the 2014 Oakland Underground Film Festival, and she is a former staff writer for Consequence of Sound.

In addition to producing both documentary and narrative projects, she has lectured in the U.S. (Duke University, San Diego Mesa College) and India (Union Christian College, Aluva) on the topics of media ethics and creating socially-conscious art.
