Rebecca Uliasz

Rebecca Uliasz conducts research in the intersections of liveelectronic performance, audio and visual processing, machinelearning, and phenomenology. Her work engages withcontemporary technologies in order to create aesthetic systemsthat seek to question the relationship between perception,experience, meaning-making, and consciousness. Her workcommonly takes the form of interactive installation, time-basedperformance, A/V noise improv, custom made hardware andsoftware tools, and multi-media collaboration.She has exhibited her work in a number of institutional andnon-traditional venues such as- Centro Cultural Sao Paulo, TheMetropolitan Museum of Art, SUNY Stony Brook University, TheCenter for Excellence in Wireless Information Technology(CEWIT), The Islip Art Museum, Marymount CaliforniaUniversity, POWRPLANT, Peripheral Forms Gallery, GalleryProtocol, The Wrong Biennial (2017,2015), and Brooklyn BridgePark. She has performed at a number of festivals, galleries andvenues including H0L0, Spectrum, NYC, Gaze Festival atGallery Protocol, FL, CultureHub NYC, Babycastles, NYC,Radiator Gallery, NYC, and the Velvet Lounge, NY. She iscurrently a PhD candidate in the department of ComputationalMedia, Arts, and Cutures at Duke University, where she is also afellow in the John Hope Franklin Humanities Center PhD Lab inDigital Knowledge.
