Catherine McCurry is an artist and creative technologist based in Brooklyn, New York. Through her work, she explores scientific concepts and uses technology to create new paradigms for interactive and participatory storytelling. Her work spans multiple media including performance, music, software, and installation.

Catherine trained as a classical violinist at the New England Conservatory before graduating from MIT, where she studied Physics and Music Composition. She was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue Multimedia Performance in residence at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) and received an MPS from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in the Interactive Telecommunications Program. She has created interactive installations and public artworks that have been exhibited at the Interactive Art Fair at Art Basel Miami, the Strathmore Museum in Washington DC, the TED Conferences, and Moogfest in Durham, NC. As a media designer and performer, Catherine has created plays and performances at The Public Theater, The Sundance New Frontier Showcase, The Kitchen, and the National Theater of Hungary. Currently, she works with Google’s Pie Shop designing interfaces and interactive installations in collaboration with AI researchers from Google Brain.
